PROBLEMS TARGETED
For persons with disabilities several points of interest are not easily accessible due to missing ramps or structural barriers. Checking the accessibility of these points in advance is not always possible.
PROJECT CEDOS provides knowledge, tools (a database for checking buildings, tourist attractions etc. on accessibility for all target groups), professional analysis of infrastructure, workshops, counseling for the community and positive public image. Economic advantages (tourism) induce additional motivation for the communities. CURRENT SITUATION & OUTLOOK The participating communities appreciate that through training (development of own competence) and the open access of sites they are able to work on the removal of barriers on their own. Through membership in the network, the activity is not limited to a singular initial effort, but the consciousness is firmly anchored in the communities. Inquiries from Germany show the transferability also over the federal borders.
