We therefore fully comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Union. This privacy policy provides information about the different types of personal information that we collect and the ways in which we use it. 1. Purpose of the Processing Operation

The Zero Project uses your contact data solely for the purpose of administration and to provide service to you. Your contact details allow the Zero Project to interact with you in order to achieve a world without barriers. To prevent fraudulent use, the Zero Project reserves the right to remove faux profiles.

We may obtain your personal information from a number of sources including:

  1. When you provide it to us directly. For example, if you register for our annual conference using your email address, you consent to our privacy policy. Moreover, any data provided to us via contact forms will also be processed accordingly for uses identified in point (2)
  2. When it is publicly available. Your personal information may be available to us from external publicly available sources. This includes information available on government websites (e.g. European institutions such as EASPD) or non-Zero Project company or institutional websites.
  3. When you visit our website. Our website uses cookies and other tracking technologies to improve your experience of our website—this can involve collecting personal information. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for details of the way the use of cookies may affect your personal information.
  4. When you interact with the search portal. Our Zero Project search portal allows registered member to contact our Zero Project network using a message form. By submitting your message through this form, you consent to our privacy policy and for your data to be reviewed and processed.

We may collect, store, and otherwise process the following kinds of personal information:

  • Your email address;
  • Your postal address;
  • Your social media account information;
  • Photos taken of you at Zero Project events;
  • Quotes attributed and confirmed by you;

Information collected from users of this site will be used only to the extent necessary for the purposes indicated below:

  • To post and host photo galleries of Zero Project events;
  • To post and host videos of Zero Project events and its Awardees;
  • To publish organization, award, and contact profiles on the Zero Project search portal;
  • To draft and publish feature articles;
  • To include in any shape or form in our publications;
  • To allow us to review, evaluate and administer Awards, and other Zero Project programs;

  • To contact you for our advocacy purposes and to inform you of events or publications we think you may potentially be interested in;
  • For research purposes so that we can identify key trends within the disability inclusion field.

The Zero Project addresses a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders; however, no personal data are provided either to private persons or institutions or to governmental institutions, without your explicit consent. Private data will only be disclosed with your consent or where required by law

5. Provision, Access, and Rectification of the Data

You have the right to access your personal data and the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You also have the right to request the removal of your personal data, which will be processed within three weeks after your request has been deemed legitimate.

7. Time Limit for Storing Data

Your personal data are preserved as long as needed to serve the purpose for which they were gathered (see list of use cases in “2. Data Processed”), until such time as the data subject indicates she/he wants their data to be removed. In addition, should there be a change in the purpose for which the Zero Project has collected data, reauthorization forms will be sent to all the affected individuals.
