Yuriko Oda was diagnosed with distal myopathy/GNE Myopathy in 2002. She is the president of an NPO corporation called PADM (Patients Association for Distal Myopathies), an executive committee member of TREAT – NMD Alliance and the 2016 Youth Leader Award laureate. Yuriko Oda owns a YouTube channel called “Wheelchair Walker“ through which she shares information about the wheelchair-accessibility of the places she visits. Additionally, she created an application called "WheeLog", through which, from the perspective of a wheelchair user, she selects and shares relevant information, while also modifying the application functions and participating in public relations activities.
