Zero Project Conferences

Sharing disability innovation globally

The Zero Project Conferences—hosted annually at the United Nations Office at Vienna alongside regional editions worldwide—serve as cross-sector platforms to share and advance innovative solutions that remove barriers for persons with disabilities.

The unique conference format is based on the Zero Project's annual, community-guided research to identify scalable innovations with proven impact. Each year, approximately 75 Zero Project Awardees (good practices and policies) are recognized at the conference in Vienna. Their solutions shape the conference agenda, facilitating collaboration with a global network of academics, policymakers, practitioners, business leaders, and disability experts.

The regional conferences build bridges between local innovation ecosystems and the global Zero Project Network.

Innovative solutions

All Zero Project Conferences focus on sharing good practices and policies and are based on the Zero Project's annual research:

Zero Project Conference 2027 (#ZeroCon27)

February 10-12, 2027
At the United Nations Office at Vienna

#ZeroCon27

  • The traditional "family photo" at the ZeroCon Award Ceremony: a very large and diverse group smiling into the camera and cheering.

Vienna | Organized by the Essl Foundation

    Global

The annual conference at the United Nations Office at Vienna has become a unique global meeting place for cross-sectoral collaboration to advance the implementation of the CRPD.

  • A panel discussion taking place on stage at the Zero Project Iberoamérica 2025 Conference. Four women are seated in conversation, one of whom is in a wheelchair. Behind them is a large screen displaying a presentation titled "Tan diversos como las flores" by Falcon Farms, featuring Anny Yamile Martinez Lopez from Colombia. The slide includes colorful flower imagery, text in Spanish, and photos, including a sign language interpreter. The captioning at the top of the screen provides a description in Spanish. The stage is well-lit, and the atmosphere is professional and inclusive.

Santiago de Chile | Fundación Descúbreme

    Ibero-America

The first regional conference was organised by Fundación Descúbreme in 2020. Since then, the conference has been held every year, bringing together innovators and experts from Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries.

  • Staff hand out name tags to local and international participants; front and center is an international participant Asian background receiving his tag from one of the staff.

    Mumbai | Youth4Jobs

    India

The annual regional conference for South Asia has been hosted by Youth4Jobs in New Delhi (2023-2025) and Mumbai (2026).

  • In the picture hundreds of participants smiles and pose from the audience of the Zero Project Asia Pacific Symposium 2024.

    Singapore | SG Enable

    Asia Pacific

The partnership with SG Enable was established in 2023, bringing the event format to Singapore for global and cross-sectoral collaboration throughout the Asia Pacific region.
