Engin Yılmaz took his PHD in the field of adult education in Boğaziçi University. His thesis is about disability perception of blind people. Since 2007 he is the director of Technology and Education Laboratory for Individuals with Visual Disability (GETEM). He is the president of Association of Barrier Free Access (ABFA). He is among the founders of audio description project in Turkey. He still gives lectures related to living with disabilities, accessible technologies and special education.
