Founder and CEO at Mitti Cafe

Alina Alam is the founder and CEO of MITTI Cafe, which provides experiential training to persons with disabilities and a space to be productive and showcase their potential. Today, there are 13 cafes and 116 adults with physical, intellectual or psychiatric disabilities who run these cafes. Since the pandemic, the employees with disabilities have cooked and served over 1.3 Million meals to daily wage earners and the homeless. This has enabled them to serve the country while creating awareness about the abilities of their team of warriors with disabilities. For her efforts, Alam won awards such as the Rotary Exemplar Award, Mindtree Helen Keller Award and the Times of India's She Unlimited Award. Year of this biography: 2020
