Solution details
“Ayho supports persons with disabilities to work more autonomously in any company. ” Juan Prieto, Job Coach, Fundación Capacis
Fundación ONCE, in partnership with Samsung and the Spanish Association of Supported Employment, launched Ayho, a digital tool supporting employment for individuals with high support needs. Ayho, available as a website and app, aids workers with disabilities, job coaches, and employers by offering essential guidance and on-the-job support. It also includes training courses to enhance skills and promote workforce inclusion. Since its launch in May 2024, Ayho has reached 160 organizations and 850 users by year’s end.
Problems Targeted
Supported Employment supports persons with disabilities with high support needs to develop their skills and perform their jobs successfully, but its implementation in Spain is insufficient.
Solution, Innovation and Impact
Fundación ONCE, a leading Spanish DPO under the ONCE Social Group, promotes the social and labour inclusion of persons with disabilities. In partnership with Samsung and the Spanish Association of Supported Employment, in May 2024 it launched Ayho, a digital tool aimed at integrating individuals with disabilities who have high support needs into the workforce under supported employment. Ayho assists these workers during onboarding and training, offering step-by-step instructions, scheduling tools, and reminders to help them manage tasks. It facilitates seamless communication with job coaches and the workplaces, ensuring timely problem resolution. The tool supports the full employment journey with personalized guidance and monitoring, improving job adaptation and retention. The app is free for disability organizations that provide employment services, which, in turn, can offer it free to companies employing their clients. Since its launch following a pilot with 30 organizations, Ayho has grown to support 157 disability organizations and 850 users by the end of 2024.
Funding, Outlook and Transferability
The development of Ayho was primarily funded by the Fundación ONCE (88 per cent), while technology partner Samsung provided 12 per cent of the development budget. Following presentations at international conferences in 2023 and 2024, Ayho has already attracted interest from organizations in other countries, and the foundation is working to offer it in other countries, starting with Spanish-speaking ones.
