Anna Alisjahbana was a Pediatrician and Neonatologist at a Teaching Hospital in Bandung in the early 70’s. At the time only 20% of infants were born in health facilities, in rural and underserved areas home birth was the norm. Her concern was “How’s the babies’ quality of life after survival?”, knowing how low birth weight, birth complication, and poor parenting are related to evelopmental delay/disability. Thus, Anna established Suryakanti Foundation – Center for Development of Child Potentials in 1984, serving children with developmental delay/disability. Late 2000’s, her concept of Early Childhood Development Center was adopted nationwide. Year of this biography: 2018
