In her professional career, Monika Schmeid worked as an education officer in the department for organizational and personnel development at Maculan Holding AG (1990 to 1994) and accompanied the Management Impulse model and organizational development processes in Austria and CEE (1995 to 1998) as a trainer and moderator. She has worked in public relations consulting since 1998 and has already looked after clients such as Pioneer Austria, Balloon Records, Club Danube GYMnasium and T-Systems Austria (formerly debis Systemhaus). At T-Systems Austria (2002-2009) she took over the management of press and public relations and acted as public affairs manager and company spokeswoman for the group. In her era, T-Systems successfully repositioned itself from an ICT hardware reseller to the leading integrated ICT service provider and international group competence center in the healthcare sector. She designed dialogue platforms at the interface between business and politics and initiated, among other things, the T-Systems Young Innovation Award, or the T-Systems sustainability project "Green Dynamics" (CO2 emission reduction in the T-Systems data center), which started with the IDC Green IT Award and the Environment Prize of the City of Vienna.
