Project Coordinator at Uganda National Action on Physical Disability

Mukasa Apollo, being the only disabled person from the family of 12, gave him the determination to work hard and study in order to make a positive contribution to the society especially on the lives of PWDs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University (Uganda) and a Masters in International Development and Social Change from Clark University (USA). While working with Uganda National Action on Physical Disability(UNAPD), Mukasa led the process of developing the first ever Accessibility Standards in East Africa, which were launched by the government of Uganda in 2010 as a national document. Currently, Mukasa is the Executive Director of UNAPD, and working together with the Ministry of Works and Transport and other relevant stakeholders in the process of developing the regulations for the Building Control Act.
