Masahito KAWAMORI is currently the Rapporteur of Question 26 “Accessibility to multimedia systems and services” in the Study Group 16, which is the lead Study Group for Multimedia of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency for Information and Communication Technology. He leads the standardization of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) area for accessible services for persons with disabilities. He has worked with experts from the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities to standardize Telephone Relay Service (F.930). He developed standard profiles for accessible IPTV services as well as H.921 “Audio-based network navigation system for persons with vision impairment”, which was awarded an innovative policy award by Zero Project in 2018, with Wayfindr.
