Connecting AT Innovations and Support Partners
Together with our regional partner, the Assistive Technologies for Disability Trust (AT4D), the Zero Project selected 10 Assistive Technology (AT) innovations from Sub-Saharan Africa and India to participate in the Zero Project Technology Forum Nairobi 2026.
The innovators pitched their solutions to a diverse group of Support Partners, including the Mastercard Foundation, Meta, local investors, and international NGOs like Sightsavers and Light for the World. The pitching sessions were followed by targeted matchmaking meetings—prepared weeks in advance—creating valuable opportunities to explore partnerships, share knowledge, and advance these solutions.

Strengthening connections ahead of the forum
Two days earlier, the Zero Project and the Austrian Ambassador to Kenya, Dr. Christian Fellner, had invited members of the Zero Project Network to an informal reception at the residence of the Austrian Ambassador. After welcoming statements from Dr. Fellner and Wilfried Kainz, he introduced local Zero Project Awardees to the audience. In brief interviews conducted by Anja Günther, the awardees talked about their organizations and their projects. The event was a unique opportunity to connect members of the Zero Project Network with local stakeholders.
From connections to collaboration
