Caritas Austria

The core mission of Caritas is to recognize and respond to distress, advocating for those who have no voice. This involves respecting and protecting human life from beginning to end, assisting people in crisis regardless of their origin, religion, or gender. Caritas operates in over 1,600 locations across Austria, providing help in areas such as healthcare, disabilities, hospice, social counseling, and supporting families or elderly individuals facing heating challenges. Caritas comprises dedicated full-time staff and, notably, around 50,000 volunteers who contribute their efforts passionately and professionally every day. Recognizing the diverse faces of distress worldwide, Caritas is part of the international Caritas network, with over 160 organizations globally dedicated to humanitarian service.
