Ten in-depth case studies, expert comments on Universal Design, and 20 short reviews of outstanding solutions from around the world. The "Champions of Inclusive Spaces Report" was published by the Essl Foundation in cooperation with SG Enable.

Outstanding projects that can be replicated

On the occasion of the inaugural Zero Project Asia Pacific Symposium, the “Champions of Inclusive Spaces” report was presented to an international audience in Singapore on November 28, 2024. 

The publication was the result of a significant research project: For the first time the Zero Project to harnessed its global network and collective expertise to spotlight champions and leaders in one of the most crucial areas of disability inclusion and accessibility: The Built Environment.

“Champion in Inclusive Spaces” showcases some outstanding examples of Universal Design in public spaces. Among the examples featured in this report are architectural projects, such as office buildings, banks, community centres, hotels, airports, museums, and urban developments:

20 short reviews and Expert comments

An additional twenty oustanding solutions from around the world are included in the report. Seven renowned experts have contributed comments on defined challenges to build inclusive spaces, ranging from certification to accessible orientation systems:
