A Global Gathering with Diverse Voices

Organized by EnAble India, the “Food for Thought” event showcased groundbreaking assistive solutions from India and fostered collaboration between global and local ecosystems to advance disability-inclusive innovations. The event saw participation from over 150 individuals, including grassroots organizations and innovators, who engaged in a three-hour workshop organized by the Premium Technology Institute of India, IIT Delhi. This workshop was a highlight, providing a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences.

International delegates from 10 countries, totaling 40 people, attended the event. The sessions were diverse and well-orchestrated, featuring a variety of presentations and discussions. Notable sessions included a presentation on the Open Network Digital Commerce (ONDC), a discussion on inclusive higher education, and a demonstration of an AI platform by Youth4Jobs.

Showcasing Grassroots Innovations

Additionally, the Discovery Awards winner Rigzin Tamchos, who was unable to attend the Vienna event due to snowfall, was recognized at this forum.

A Solutions Pavilion was set up to highlight grassroots innovations, with 10 innovators from across India presenting their solutions and interacting with international delegates. This pavilion was a testament to the innovative spirit and potential of grassroots solutions in addressing disability inclusion.

The event also garnered media attention, with a national television channel covering portions of the program and interviewing key figures like Martin Essl and Shanti Raghavan. The coverage is expected to be broadcasted soon.

Sparking future partnerships

During their stay in Bangalore, the international delegates engaged in multiple bilateral and other meetings to explore future partnerships. On the morning of September 24th, the team visited a renowned hospital specializing in psychosocial disability and neurological conditions, where they discussed ideas about accessibility and inclusion.

The Zero Project extends heartfelt gratitude to all the partners and participants whose contributions played a crucial role in the success of this event.
