A week of disability inclusion across India

This November, over 20 delegates from more than 10 countries gathered in India for a series of events to strengthen regional collaboration and scale innovative solutions across India and beyond. Under the umbrella of Zero Project India, the week enabled exchange between global and regional experts across multiple sectors.

Exchanging good practices on disability innovation in New Delhi

The delegation began its programme with a visit to the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare, where participants explored training facilities designed to expand inclusive opportunities in the healthcare sector. Later, the Austrian Embassy in New Delhi hosted a reception showcasing innovative disability-inclusive solutions from the global Zero Project network, underscoring Austria’s continued commitment to fostering international collaboration.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp on November 13 marked the formal opening of the Zero Project Conference India 2025 and CII–IBDN National Conference 2025 by Lead Partner Youth4Jobs. Over two days, attendees joined keynotes, panel discussions, exhibitions, and cultural performances—creating space to exchange good practices, build partnerships, and drive innovation in disability inclusion. On the final day in New Delhi, the group visited the assistive technology showroom at IIT Delhi and enjoyed the treats at the Blind Bakery, which employs persons with visual impairments.

Pitching disability-inclusive ICT innovations in Bangalore

The Zero Project Technology Forum Bangalore 2025 on November 17, hosted by EnAble India in cooperation with Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), spotlighted emerging Indian and international start-ups developing transformative assistive and inclusive technologies. Innovators pitched their solutions and connected with investors, multipliers, and company representatives. Three of the innovators have been invited to pitch at the Zero Project Technology Forum in Vienna on 17 February 2026. The technology forum was followed by the "Open Sky, Open Mind" (OSOM) Conference 2025, including the Purple Pavilion and the OSOM Awards. On the last day, a part of the group visited the NIMHANS hospital to exchange good practices in inclusive healthcare.
