Tamar ZHVANIA

Chairperson at Central Election Commission of Georgia

Tamar Zhvania is the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Georgia since 2013. She holds the Master Degree in Sociology and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology. Ms. Zhvania is the fellow at Stanford University. She is fully accredited BRIDGE Workshop Facilitator. Previously, Ms. Zhvania worked as a Project Manager at UNDP and as a Senior Program Manager at NDI, Nigeria. Ms. Zhvania served as an Executive Director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy; she observed more than 30 elections worldwide. Ms. Zhvania is a winner of the annual Joe C. Baxter Award in 2017, granted by IFES for her contributions in advancing election environment as a CEC Chairperson. Year of this biography: 2019
