More than 350 experts from around the world helped choose the winners of the Zero Project Awards.
They checked 522 ideas from 90 countries.
It took more than 300 hours to review and choose the winners.
The experts chose the winners for their innovation, impact, and scalability.
“Innovation” means creating new ideas or products.
“Impact” means the effect or change something makes.
“Scalability” means that something can grow or expand.
Ideas from around the world
There are ideas from all parts of society and all around the world.
The 77 award winners come from 45 different countries.
Europe has 27 award winners, Asia and Pacific have 18, North America has 11, Africa has 10, Latin America and Caribbean have 8, and Australia and Oceania have 3.
The countries with the most award winners are the United States of America with 8, India, Austria, and Germany with 4 each, and Canada and China with 3 each.
All awarded solutions can be used in many countries.
Guinea and Guyana are new to the list.
China has many award winners this year.
The Zero Project's partners in South Asia and Ibero-America helped get many ideas from these regions.
