Persons with disabilities have the right to express their concerns in a public space through different means of communication. Government agencies are also expected to create platforms for inclusive dialogue.

Studies show that persons with disabilities reach out to people in public office more than those without disabilities. Those who have found support groups such as those belonging to DPOs have been more outspoken and have the courage to join demonstrations.

Therefore, it is important that communication line and information sources are accessible for everyone. Laws and practices on participation in collective demonstrations through different means of communications must also include persons with disabilities.

Nominations shall not contain:

  • Projects on non-inclusive political models
  • Projects that do not respect the rights of persons with disabilities
  • Projects that stick with traditional consultation process and policies
  • Project that are discriminatory towards other disabilities
