Supported employment is based on principles such as choice and control, paid employment, partnership and mentoring, full inclusion, and individualization.
Traditional sheltered workshops are usually organizations or environments that employ people with disabilities separately from others, usually with exemptions from labor standards, including but not limited to the absence of minimum wage requirements.
Many countries have reformed by introducing nondisabled workplaces and by fulfilling minimum wage requirements. These are the solutions Zero Project is looking for. Nevertheless, in some countries sheltered workshops still exist and reforms are not planned.
