Solution details
The “Inclusive Postal Partnership” project makes it possible for persons with disabilities to participate in the general labour market. In cooperation with Austrian Post, non-profit organisations (NPO) active in assisting persons with disabilities help make the step from “protected” forms of employment into the general labour market a success. The first inclusive partnership with Austrian Post began in Innsbruck on April 10, 2012. In this postal partnership team, persons with and without disabilities work together in the primary/general labour market, and on an equal basis. The interaction of persons with and without disabilities in the environment of a recognised service, such as the postal service, is significant for changing the perception of persons with disabilities in the labour market; with appropriate supervision and support, persons with disabilities provide valuable - and equal - contributions to services that are important and indispensable for our society.
Solution, Innovation and Impact
A total of seven persons with and without disabilities are employed in the postal partnership and related services (copy and digital service). Further inclusive postal partnerships in the city and district of Innsbruck are planned.
