Escola de Gente is a theatre project that works on the full inclusion of persons with disabilities not only by enabling them to visit and enjoy theatre, but also by actively participating in creating an inclusive culture by publishing all kind of accessible material and advocating for an inclusive education system.
Escola de Gente enables actors and audience members with and without disabilities to participate in and enjoy theatre. The stories told on stage address themes like discrimination and inclusion. Descriptive subtitling, sign language interpreters, audio description, programs in Braille and multimedia materials play an essential part.

Advanced life-skills training for wheelchair users
In 2012 the Association of People with Disabilities in Bolivia launched ‘Nueva Esperanza’, a programme that teaches life skills to people with physical disabilities, especially wheelchair users. In 2017 the local practice was recognized nationwide and was included in a new labour law. As of 2022 there were 25 beneficiaries.

Increasing Voter Accessibility in Paraguay
Ahead of the 2015 municipal elections, USAID and Fundación Saraki reviewed the legal framework regarding accessibility in elections. Their recommendations led to new regulations, such as providing absentee ballots for the first time and making information about voting available in sign language and Braille.

A city offering a free 24-hour video-sign language translation service for all public services
Central de Intermediação em Libras (CIL) is a free service for the hearing impaired, offered by the city administration of São Paulo. Via an app, users can communicate with municipal civil servants and emergency services personnel in Brazilian sign language for free and also without affecting their data download limit.

National and cross-sector coordination to promote inclusive employment
The project supports companies to employ people with disabilities through training and the creation of technical guidelines for workplace inclusion. Between 2009 and 2020 the project has provided consultancy to 220 companies and supported 700 people with disabilities into employment.

National Training Service making itself accessible and inclusive
SENA is a public entity for work training and human develop and the only one in Colombia committed to guidelines for inclusion. SENA has counsellors in its 33 offices nationwide and provides 117 mobile training centres for remote regions. In 2019, 1,543 jobs for people with disabilities were placed.

Outdoor and indoor orientation for people who are blind
The app uses audible messages to provide users with information about their location, pointing out street junctions and reporting on places of interest, such as businesses, institutions, etc. If required, it can also guide the user to a specific point. By mid-2017 Lazarillo had already more than 7,000 users in 14 countries.
