          • BBDN - Bangladesh Business & Disability Network

**Bangladesh Business & Disability Network (BBDN)** was inaugurated at the Dhaka Summit on Skills and Employment on 11th December 2016 at Osmani Memorial Hall in the presence of Director General ILO, Mr. Guy Ryder and Former President Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), Mr. Salahuddin Kasem Khan. BBDN which operates with the close support of BEF, is a unique network of employers and employers’ associations formed in collaboration with disability focused organizations, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPD’s), NGOs and development partners, with a purpose of creating a more disability inclusive workforce in Bangladesh. The network operates under the BEF with support from ILO. Bangladesh has many companies that employ persons with disabilities and there are many others who are willing to employ workers with disabilities. However, there is no forum to bring together the experiences, learning and successful policies, practices and models to promote disability inclusion in the work place. BBDN believes that participation in such a network will facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration and mutually beneficial activities leading to increased employment of people with disabilities. Employers joining BBDN will increase their capacity to address their needs related to diversity, corporate social responsibility, legal adherence and human resources. BBDN is also aiming to establish links between the demand side and supply side stakeholders; as such, NGOs and disability organizations are welcome to join BBDN as Resource Members.
