Romanian National Television Channel TVR receives accolades from the UN

The TV Show – “Without Prejudice” – is the first European one to be hosted by persons with intellectual disabilities.

The TV Show – “Without Prejudice” from TVR Cluj will receive the award: Global Recognition “Good Practices for Employees with Disability” from the Brazilian Secretary of State for Persons with Disability.

The award will be given on 2nd of December in New York at the UN Headquarters to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the proclamation of the UN Convention for persons with disability.

This award comes after last year, another TVR production was recognised – Marian Voicu received the gold medal from the UN Correspondents Association for the documentary “Exodus. A Syrian tragedy”.

„We are extremely happy to receive this award. We often say – in our programme we show a different side of disability. One full of hope, confidence and success. This award confirms it”, declared Ovidiu Damian, the show’s producer. „We thank all those that encouraged us, those that are part of the online Without Prejudice community and choose to follow our programme week after week. We also thank our colleagues. It is a collective award for the great teamwork put in it.”, added Ovidiu Damian.

The TVR show is produced in collaboration with the Hans Spalinger Association and is the first of its kind in Europe to have three persons with intellectual disabilities as reporters. The show featured renowned specialists from the field of disability and covered in an unique manner in Romanian media sensitive subjects.

The show runs on TVR 3, Saturday from 13:00 EET.
